Step 1: Cleanse (AM & PM)

While not strictly necessary, a good toner can be a game-changer. It helps balance your skin's pH levels and prepares it to better absorb subsequent products. Look for hydrating toners with ingredients like rose water or hyaluronic acid, rather than alcohol-based ones that can dry out your skin.
Step 3: Treat (Serums & Actives)
This is where you target specific concerns. Vitamin C serum in the morning protects against environmental damage and brightens skin. In the evening, retinol or exfoliating acids (like AHAs/BHAs) can help with cell turnover and anti-aging. Remember: start slow with potent actives to avoid irritation.
Step 4: Moisturize (AM & PM)
Hydration is key for all skin types, even oily skin! A moisturizer seals in moisture and protects the skin barrier. Choose a texture that suits you: lightweight gels for oily skin, and richer creams for dry or mature skin. Don't forget your neck and décolletage!
Step 5: Sun Protection (AM Only)
If you do nothing else, wear sunscreen. UV rays are the number one cause of premature aging, pigmentation, and skin cancer. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every single morning, regardless of the weather. It is the most effective anti-aging product you can buy.
